A family legacy of innovation and creativity

The Harrison family has long been associated with industry, invention and business innovation. Ancestors in the 18th and 19th centuries include Richard Harrison, who founded the UK’s first covered auction market in Carlisle.  Joseph Harrison pioneered large scale lime stone manufacture on Shap Fell. Other innovative Harrisons include Jeffery Harrison, a designer of aircraft, speed boats, and furniture.

Christopher and Simon Harrison have made their own contribution to the family legacy with the regeneration of many landmark buildings around Carlisle including the Capital Building, Fusehill Medical Centre, Harraby Green Hall and Bellgarth Square. And of course Highgrove, a splendid development of 98 new homes with views over the river Petteril.
